Matías Prado Chilean, b. 1986

Matías Prado is an illustrator, author and visual artist who holds a certificate in Illustration from the Duoc UC Institute in Santiago.
Matías has enjoyed a successful career in advertising illustration, working with internationally renowned brands, and is renowned for his ability to capture the essence of emotion and everyday life in his work, connecting with a wide audience in an accessible way, blending the personal with the universal.
As an artist, he has developed his work through painting and ceramics, drawing inspiration from childlike expression and geometric rigour, exploring the naivety and fluidity of childhood along with the order of form. This interaction creates a special dynamic in his work, which moves between freedom and structure, inviting the viewer to reflect on the diversity and complexity of human emotion, individuality and coexistence.
He has published three illustrated books in Chile: De cuento en cuento (2018, Editorial Amauta), El Coleccionista (2021, Editorial Escrito con Tiza) and El que busca encuentra (2023, Editorial Vasalisa). In addition to his professional work, Matías teaches workshops and illustration classes for emerging artists.
Matías Prado lives and works in Santiago.
