Fabio Castro is a transmedia visual artist and audiovisual creator, with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chile.
When Fabio was one year old, his parents and he went into exile in the United States, first arriving in Iowa and then moving to Silicon Valley in San Jose, California, where he lived until 1983. After returning to Chile with his family in the mid-1980s, Fabio finished his school studies. In 1995, he entered the Faculty of Arts at the University of Chile, graduating in 1999. In 2005 he moved to Barcelona, where he lived for ten years.

Fabio's work explores pop culture, science and technology, raising questions about the environment, power and contemporary politics in an ironic and transdisciplinary way. For 25 years, he has been investigating different media and techniques, from traditional smelting to digital manufacture, installation, animation, video mapping, web programming and electronics. He has made interventions with video projections in Spain, Brazil and Colombia, in venues such as the façade of the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona and the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao.
