Florencia Viñuela Chilean, b. 1999

Florencia Viñuela holds a BA in Visual Arts from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and completed postgraduate studies at Chelsea College of Arts in London.

Her practice focuses mainly on oil painting and its recurring use in stop-motion animation. Through painting, she reinterprets pre-existing images and videos using pictorial elements, while animation adds layers of meaning and expression to each scene. Her own biography plays a key role in shaping the narrative of her work, illustrating current emotional processes and connecting them to her personal history.
Recurring themes in her work include childhood, the transition to adulthood, and the nature of memory. Nostalgia emerges as a constant driving force, as if seeking to understand the relevance of her past in her present.

Lives and works in Santiago, Chile.
