Ulises Mazzucca Argentinian, b. 1997

Ulises Mazzucca is a visual artist, with studies in Fine Arts at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Rosario, Argentina) and Curatorship at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes in Buenos Aires.

In 2018, Mr Mazzucca won the Artist Program fellowship from the Vicentin  Foundation to pursue studies at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires,  in addition to the Clínica La Basurita fellowship in Rosario from the National Arts Fund of Argentina in 2015. From 2018 t0 2019, he took part the artist-in-residence programme Boca de Fuego at MUNAR Arte in Buenos Aires.

Through his drawings and paintings on paper, performances, diaries, and installations, Mr Mazzucca creates "emotional cartographies."⁣⁣ Covering the surface of sheets with personal experiences that gather love, sex and pain, the artist creates an ideogram system with simple and homogenous lines. Between a horror vacui and an unaligned narrative, his artworks refer to a childhood language, where proportions and conventions aren’t rigid and normative.

Mr Mazzucca has been part of numerous group shows in Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, and Santiago, presenting his latest solo shows En su rodilla un polvo cobrizo at Isabel Croxatto Galería (Santiago), and Lágrima impermeable at Diego Obligado Galería de Arte (Rosario, Argentina). The artist has participated in international contemporary art fairs, such as Art Central (Hong Kong), Contemporary Istanbul (Turkey) and Ch.ACO (Chile) with Isabel Croxatto Galería, as well as arteBA (Argentina).

Ulises Mazzucca currently lives and works in Buenos Aires.
