Selfie.
Me, me and myself: “Me” seems to be today’s mantra.
It could be fun taking a picture of oneself occasionally,
Although, as I watch people taking selfie pictures with all sorts of known poses as they upload them every five minutes and changing their profiles, something rings a bell.
It might be the notion of shallowness, showing off, of overcoming the reality.
Selfie is a series of embroidering of pictures taken from the web, where I manifest the contrasts between the immediate reality of digital self-portraits and the time and dedication of the embroidering procedure.
I show them on reverse, generating broken images.
Images of perfect and unfinished men.
Stark nudes wearing class.
