2nd Prize, Textile Category, at the 108th National Visual Arts Salon in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Separation, and how to protect ourselves from the pain, the memories, the distance?
Medieval tapestries tell stories; with needle and thread, they shelter us, protect us from the damp and the cold. In short, they save us.
And so it is that I take up the space given on the wall with a tapestry, embroidering portraits from the Grindr App, those whom I contacted this year, those who "saved the night" for me.
