Víctor Castillo is part of IMAXINARIA, International Contemporary Illustration Exhibition in Spain

News | Santiago de Compostela, Spain
Our represented artist Víctor Castillo takes part in IMAXINARIA, the 4th edition of the Muestra Internacional de Ilustración Contemporánea (MiiC4), an international contemporary illustration exhibition held at the Fundación Galicia Obra Social (Afundación) in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from 18 October 2022 to 18 February 2023.
Titled IMAXINARIA, MiiC4 focuses on the most personal and experimental works of world-class illustrators. These are artists with a high multidisciplinary profile, coming from different fields such as painting, comics, murals, graffiti, animation, fashion, graphic design or tattooing, whose means of expression is illustration.
IMAXINARIA presents an anthology of pieces based on illustration, created using different techniques, from gouache, collage and ceramics to animation. The common denominator among them is overflowing creativity and imagination, which drive the renewal of formal languages. Imagination as a refuge, inspiration and the fundamental basis of the creative process is the premise on which the current edition of the exhibition is based.
Víctor Castillo is present in MiiC4 with five new, medium-sized paintings that stem from his experimentation with gouache on paper, something we could see in his recent exhibition Once Upon A Happy Land at Isabel Croxatto Galería LOCAL 2 during the first semester of 2022. IMAXINARIA is organised and curated by the Spanish cultural agent Matilde Rodríguez.
Alongside Víctor Castillo, artists such as Cristina Daura, Rafael Silveira and Marylou Faure, along with more personal and experimental works by Aitor Saraiba, Alba Blázquez, Berto Fojo, David Fidalgo Omil, Kruella D'Enfer, Magoz, Marcos Navarro, Marta Font, Natalia Umpiérrez, Natasha Lelenco, Nuria Riaza, Olaf Hajek, Perrilla and Twee Muizen.
IMAXINARIA, IV Muestra Internacional de Ilustración contemporánea can be visited at the Santiago de Compostela branch of Afundación at Rúa do Vilar, 19. Santiago de Compostela (A Coruña), Spain, from Monday to Saturday from 12.00 to 14.00 and 16.30 to 20.30h until 18 February 2023. Free admission.
