Isabel Croxatto Galería celebrates the recent critical recognition of Peruvian artist Walther Sánchez, whose work was highlighted in a column published by Caretas (Peru) in relation to his participation in Conmemorar y Celebrar. The group exhibition, curated by Mariairis Flores Leiva and presented by Isabel Croxatto Galería and Fundación Mecenas, took place at the Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral (GAM) in Santiago between July and August 2025.
In the column titled Oh, del gozo, the author reflects on the emotional and symbolic depth of Sánchez’s work, emphasizing the artist’s ability to confront memory, intimacy, and grief through a visual language shaped by lived experience. The text underscores how his practice approaches personal and collective history with honesty and vulnerability, positioning his work as one of the exhibition’s most compelling contributions.
Sánchez’s presence in Conmemorar y Celebrar formed part of a broader curatorial dialogue centered on remembrance, celebration, and the role of contemporary art in revisiting past narratives. The mention in Caretas further affirms the relevance of his practice within current artistic discussions in Latin America.
With this recognition, Isabel Croxatto Galería celebrates the growing visibility of Walther Sánchez’s work and its resonance across regional critical discourse.
