Wladymir Bernechea talked with LUN about the release of his latest book, Neo-Tokio. Historia del Animé en la Cultura Chilena.
—Is there a correlation between the social and political history of Chile and the topics dealt in the animé?
—In the 1980s, in the context of the dictatorship, the animé imported from Japan was tinged with issues related to World War II. At some extent, the tragic atmosphere of the animé that were broadcasted then trascended into the social life of the country at the time.
