A second variation on the model behind Fever Dream (Spinario), this work combines the fragmented body of a classical sculpture with the distorted head of Bart Simpson. While the first version evoked the visual language of catalogue photography and historical art books, this iteration takes a different approach. A uniform blue patina envelops the entire figure, as though bronze oxidation had overtaken both the academic canon and the television cartoon.
Beneath this monochrome surface, both references are subjected to the same material logic, dissolving distinctions between original and copy, relic and commodity. The work collapses these hierarchies into a continuous skin where cultural sources merge and become indistinguishable. Acting as the false temporality of an imagined museum, the patina equalizes everything it touches, suggesting a world in which history itself has become a uniform surface.
