Chilean artist Poleo Painemal Castillo, represented by Isabel Croxatto Galería, is participating in the exhibition Tramas II. Laboratorio de creación e investigación intercultural, presented at the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino in Santiago de Chile.
The exhibition is the result of the second edition of this laboratory, developed in collaboration with CONADI, bringing together research and creative processes by Indigenous artists in dialogue with the museum’s collections and teams.
Over a four-month period, participants developed projects that articulate diverse disciplines—including visual arts, performance, writing, and audiovisual research—proposing new readings of heritage from contemporary Indigenous perspectives.
Within this context, Poleo’s work engages with questions of memory, territory, language, and community ties, addressing these through a practice that intersects artistic languages and situated knowledge.
The artist’s inclusion in this exhibition reflects the relevance of her work within institutional platforms that promote intercultural dialogue and contemporary artistic production.
