Jessica Briceño Cisneros leads research project on future schools alongside GEL Architecture

Artist Jessica Briceño Cisneros, represented by Isabel Croxatto Galería, is leading the project Future Schools alongside GEL Architecture as part of La Escuela___’s Local Classroom program.

The initiative proposes an interdisciplinary reflection on school architecture and the contemporary transformation of learning environments, approaching the school not only as educational infrastructure, but also as a social, political, and symbolic territory.

The project engages with current discussions around flexibility, community, and new ways of inhabiting educational spaces, considering how architecture shapes forms of encounter, collaboration, and collective experience.

Through this research, Briceño Cisneros continues to develop a practice focused on the relationship between architecture, perception, and material culture, expanding her work toward questions related to urbanism, infrastructure, and contemporary forms of social organization.
