Ten years after the emergence of his drag alter ego, the artist revisits childhood memories, family archives, and personal experiences to reflect on the construction of identity, the discovery of textile as an artistic language, and the questions that shaped this new body of work.
Through an intimate and personal narrative, Nia de Indias discusses the origins of the materials that compose the exhibition, the process behind the textile portraits, and the meaning of Love Declaration: a personal exploration of affection, vulnerability, and the right to be loved without judgment.
