La Pregunta is the first work in which the window emerges as an inhabited, densely populated space. Reinterpreting the classical motif of the painting within the painting, Reyes transforms the window into a layered pictorial threshold where multiple figures coexist, overlap, and compete for the viewer's attention.
At the center of the composition, an upside-down figure introduces the question from which the work takes its title. Why does this body occupy such an unstable position? Is it suspended by choice, or by forces beyond the frame? Rather than resolving the scene, the painting sustains its ambiguity, inviting viewers to inhabit uncertainty and imagine the unseen events unfolding beyond the image's limits.

La Pregunta es la primera obra en la que la ventana aparece como un espacio habitado y densamente poblado. Reinterpretando el motivo clásico de la pintura dentro de la pintura, Reyes transforma la ventana en un umbral pictórico estratificado donde múltiples figuras conviven, se superponen y disputan la atención del espectador.
