Thank You for Being With Us in 2020

Dear friends,
2020 was a complex year, full of challenges and changes for everyone. From Isabel Croxatto Galería we wanted to be with you, bringing the best of our artists from the south of the world.
We started the year with El Mundo Al Instante N°1, group exhibition and our first open call, with the participation of 34 artists selected from more than 200 proposals that sought to take the feeling of the public after the 18-O social outburst through the creation and re-signification of artworks, and with an attendance of over 600 people at the opening event.
Then the pandemic arrived and the world changed. Gone were our plans to meet again with the art fairs in Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, Lisbon, Istanbul, and Miami. We had to close the gallery, stay home and keep our distance from our art community, friends and family.
However, that did not stop us: we managed to reinvent ourselves towards the creation of a virtual space and a series of online exhibitions without parallel, succeeding in presenting the work of our artists to every corner of the world. In April we opened El Turista by Coco Gonzalez Lohse, the first 100% virtual exhibition created in Chile, with great success in visits, reviews and sales. The digital format was something new for many —for us as well—, and it was our way of continuing to be present and bringing the best of our artists to your homes.
After the first approach and learning, we took a major leap forward by launching ICG+, our new virtual gallery especially designed to create online artistic experiences. The project was developed by the interdisciplinary collective deeptime.art, with the support of ProChile. We opened with After Nature by Andrea Wolf, followed by our current exhibition Ex Post by Paloma Castillo, and the upcoming international group show CUIR, curated by Chiachio & Giannone, in January.
Even though we were not able to receive you in our home, travel as usual, nor meet as before, this year we had the privilege of incorporating the work of our artists into important institutional and private collections in Chile, Argentina, the United States, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden.
A few weeks ago, the gallery re-opened its doors, where we have had the pleasure to meet with you again, with all the safety measures in place. In this way, our proposal evolves towards a hybrid between the virtual and the on-site, continuing with our commitment to bring the best of our artists from the south of the world to a global audience.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for being with us this year, and for being part of this journey.
We wish you all the best for 2021!
